    REPLAY: Sugar, Sugar, Sugar

    REPLAY: Sugar, Sugar, Sugar

On this episode, we are revisiting an older episode - Sugar, Sugar, Sugar. I wanted to recycle this episode not because I want to add to the villainization of sugar and proclaim more fear about how terrible sugar is for you, but because we feel like information is power. Especially with how many people have something to say about sugar, whether they are qualified to or not.
The more you know goes with our ongoing mantra of data, not drama. In this episode we cover the history of our evolving love affair with sugar, "healthier" sources of sugar, are they really better for us, and how does our body handle alternative sugars.
Everyone gets to make their own choices on what and how much they consume of things AND everyone should be privy to the information behind it, not just be sold the marketing department's version or the loudest persons on the internet view. Enjoy!

To Track or Not to Track

To Track or Not to Track

"You can't change what you don't measure." Is that true in diet and health? In this episode, Beth and Jessica discuss how important, or not, it is to track food or other measures of health when you have a goal. Can you lose weight if you don't track your food? Can you still eat intuitively and track food? Listen in and we discuss what the research says and what happens in real life.

    Lean into Accountability

    Lean into Accountability

Why is it that in certain circumstances having accountability is seen as a positive, but when we need accountability for exercise and health some view it as a bad thing? Needing and having someone or something that holds us accountable for doing the exercise or eating healthfully is not a moral failing. We all need support, so lean into that accountability. Join us this week as Beth and Jessica discuss the importance of that support to help us reach our health goals.

Rewind:Resolving Conflicting Views On Weight Loss and Self-Image

The ping-pong of inner chatter of “should I or should I not” can put our brain in a confusing place because it wants to have clarity. But sometimes there is no clear answer, so how do we move forward? Beth and Jessica talk through what some thoughts might come up and how to work through them. The topic discussed in this episode is weight loss, but you could apply the same concepts to all kinds of decision-making situations, especially those requiring a behavior change.

From Cravings to Coping: Navigating the Psychology of Food Choices

Do you find you find yourself beating yourself up mentally or restricting food or over-exercising - basically punishing yourself - if you overate or didn't eat "healthy"? You might be punishing yourself for a behavior that is just a sign that you are missing a skill. The food and eating behavior often do NOT have anything to do with why you are in the cabinet or freezer after a hard day.
