Well Said host, Ira Nash, MD, a professor of cardiology at the Zucker School of Medicine and executive director of Northwell Health Physician Partners. He says the show is an outreach opportunity for the medical school to educate people of all walks of life about issues related to health and wellness. The program will also highlight the wealth of knowledge, expertise, and resources available in the local area.

    Joining us on Well Said is Dr. Maria Carney, Chief of the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine in the Department of Medicine for Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital and Adam Kahn, Adjunct Professor with the Master’s in Health Law and Policy Program at University and a Senior Fellow for the Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy at Hofstra University. They will be helping us unpack the complex topic of Advanced Directives; or written statements of a person’s wishes regarding medical treatment, often including a living will, made to ensure those wishes are carried out should the person be unable to communicate them to a doctor.

Chris Ciuffo is a retired NYPD officer who served at Ground Zero as a first responder and has been receiving support through the WTC Health Program. They will be talking about what made Ground Zero a toxic environment, the scope and consequence of exposure, and the efforts made to address these issues by the World Trade Center Health Program.
