    From spa pool to museum: the NZ meteorite discovery

    A meteorite about the size of your fist goes on display today at the Tuhura Otago Museum. The rock - which is well over 100 years old - is one of just 10 discovered in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the first fresh discovery in over 20 years. Tuhura Museum Natural Sciences curator Kane Fleury joins Jesse.

    WWII: The Kiwis in the world's first special forces unit

    The soldiers in the Long Range Desert Group fighting in World War II, rapidly got a reputation as and I quote "arguably the most dashing and successful irregular formation on either side in the entire war." The LRDG's role was reconnaissance and road-mapping, but they also made a name for themselves shooting up air bases, disrupting German supply lines and effectively becoming the world's first special forces unit. And the bulk of the soldiers in this unit were New Zealanders. A new podcast called Desert Pirates is coming out next week for ANZAC Day that celebrates these men. Here to tell us all about it is Noelle McCarthy from Bird of Paradise Productions.

    The NZ referee who's been selected for the FIFA World Cup

    The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins in 49 days, on June 11th, five days later the All Whites have their first game. They're playing Iran which has committed to playing in the World Cup despite the fact it is being held in Los Angeles. And along with our players, New Zealand is also sending a referee to the competition. That's a big deal because he's the only referee that's been selected from all of Oceania. Campbell-Kirk Kawana-Waugh, also known as CK, chats to Jesse.
