Often, our identity is rooted in what we believed about ourselves as kids. This could be a product of what we teach ourselves or how others influence us. But the reality is that we tend to carry these childhood memories into our adult life, whether we realize it or not. So how does this affect our identity and what can we do about it?

All of us have struggled at some point or another with imposter syndrome. We often try to "fake it until you make it", but this leads us to a tension between who we currently are and who we want to be. How do we balance?

Shame is the monster that grows in the dark recesses of our identity and has a much bigger influence on who we are than we like to admit. We all have history we’d rather forget and it is often the things we are ashamed of which carry more power in our self-definition than the things we are proud of.
