Commitment Issues and Slapping Yourself (I'm Back... For Now)
Welcome back to a VERY low res, VERY rough cut of the Always Gaining podcast.
After a long hiatus, I felt motivated to record an episode after my journaling session this morning.
I don't know if the podcast is returning full time... nevertheless, in this episode I speak about:
How being truly fed up is how you make change
What journaling did to get me there
Why I have commitment issues with new habits
How I'm overcoming those issues

What to Do if You're Not Feeling Like Yourself
In this episode, I speak about why I've been feeling "off" my game recently. I detail:
The type of struggles I've been facing
Why I think I've been off my game
The "aha" moment I had as a result of a great workout
What you can do if you're in the same situation
This episode is off the top of my head, so I hope you like the unfiltered take on what you should do if you're not feeling like yourself.

Getting Through Anxiety: Holidays, Family, Career and More
In this episode, I do something different and go COMPLETELY unscripted. I talk about my recent struggles with anxiety and really get in-depth on:
Why I think we have anxiety
Why the holidays seem to make it worse
My personal revelation on how to deal with anxiety
How vulnerability can be the key to helping you with your anxiety
How to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and stop being the victim
Quite honestly, the idea of doing an unscripted episode terrified me but it has been one of the most beneficial experiences for me so far with this podcast. I would really appreciate any and all feedback as this was a learning experience for me.

Why Most New Year's Resolutions are Hot Garbage
In this episode, I talk about why I'm generally against New Year's Resolutions. I dive into the nitty-gritty of:
Why we should treat resolutions like habits
An overview of why most people fail their resolutions
The four rules of behavior change to make habits stick
The three reasons I see behind why most people fail resolutions
Outcome versus identity-based goals
This episode is critical to me as we cruise through this holiday season with a new year right around the corner. I want to help others make meaningful change, no matter when or where they are at. Hopefully, this episode is a step in the right direction.

Ignorance Isn't Bliss: Becoming an Informed Critical Thinker in the Digital Age (with Eryn Cooper)
In this episode, I’m joined by my great friend and fellow University of Alabama C&IS alum, Eryn Cooper.
Eryn is a multimedia journalist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She’s worked previously with the ESPN/SEC Network, the NFL’s Washington Football Team Broadcast Network, and National Geographic.
We discuss with Eryn the challenges of being a journalist in 2020 and the common reason we both got into our respective fields.
We review:
What critical thinking is
Why there seems to be a lack of it in our society as a whole
Eryn's tidbits on becoming better-informed people
Transparency as an element of trustworthiness in sources
Body image vs vanity and its necessity, especially in a performance role
The pressure to fit a societal mold
Balancing meeting expectations and carving your own path
This is a deep podcast, but I think it’s well worth the listen.

How Eating 10,000 Calories Can Help You Lose Weight
In this podcast, I review my experience with the 10,000 calorie challenge.
I go over the point of doing the challenge, what I ate, how I felt, and review how my weight changed during and after the challenge. You can also check out my IGTV video to see a whole recap of the day of eating!
This calorie challenge and my experience aim to prove a few key dieting principles:
Calories are the king of fat loss versus fat gain
No matter how bad you mess up a day of eating, you can get right back on track
The scale is just a tool, it's not something to fear or a measure of your worth
Your weight is always going to fluctuate, it’s normal
Disclaimer: I really wouldn’t recommend the average, everyday person to try this. I’m not a doctor or a nutritionist, but I wouldn’t assume this is healthy. Don’t force feed food, I am NOT endorsing that you eat 10,000 calories in an attempt to lose weight. When I mean eating 10,000 calories can help YOU, I mean that ME eating 10,000 calories is something YOU can learn from for your own goals!
I hope you enjoy this episode. If you have any questions or comments about the challenge or your diet journey, hit me up on Instagram @austintreygoodwin
