1.6 Use a Podcast to Get on a Podcast The emPowered Author: A Marketing Podcast for Nonfiction Authors

    • Marketing

Did you know that hosting a podcast can help you be a guest on others? Being a podcast guest will help you reach people that you never ever would. During this podcast episode, we explore how hosting a podcast can:
Help you increase your visibility on other people’s podcasts. Offer a way for listeners of other podcasts to get to know you better and build a relationship with you too.  Become a lead magnet when you are guesting on another podcast. In every marketing effort you do, remember that it's not about you, it's about them. Keep that nugget of info close when you write your book, when you pull together a launch team, when you go to market your book, and when you pitch yourself as a podcast guest. Remember to focus on what the listeners need and want. They typically love consuming information in this way, and they will likely stay on this platform to continue learning new things. So, if you have a podcast to connect them with, it could be an easy transition for them to come over and learn from you.
Here are some of my favorite highlights from this episode:
Betsy shares more about the podcast she co-hosts and how she identified a need for creating capsule podcasts for others. (6:04)If you don’t have a podcast, you may be missing an opportunity when you are a guest because listeners are more likely to stay on the platform. (9:05)Don’t miss the point of being a guest on a podcast. Without a call to action, podcast guesting can be like you throwing spaghetti on the wall and none of it sticking. (12:32)Use a podcast to get on a podcast and use a podcast as a tool when you are on one. (13:36)If you want to be a podcast guest, think like a podcast host. I dig into some of the things to consider when pitching to become a podcast guest. (15:41)I offer up some tips for consideration for what to include in your podcast. (18:30)Are you a speaker? I have an idea on how you can use a podcast on your speaker page on your website. (20:34)For more show notes, click here.
