1. Are you in a Job, Career, or Calling‪?‬ Your Metabolic Reset

    • Nutrition

Which one of these best describes how you feel about the work you do?

In this episode we dive into the science behind these three “work orientations”: how they differ (and why it matters). Jobs, career, or callings, are three types of work orientations.

Where does this term come from and why does it matter? Work orientation was a term coined by Robert Bellah in the 80s in his book "Habits of the heart". Later studied in more depth by Dr Amy Wrzesniewski and her colleagues.

Jobs help us pay the bills. Careers give stability, benefits, and when we're in them we're always planning the next step. Callings, however, are work that is intrinsically satisfying - when you have a calling, you would do the work even if you weren't paid for it.
