#104: Scent in Cinema with Tammy Burnstock and Jas Brooks An Aromatic Life

In this episode, Frauke sits down with In-Glorious Smell-O-Vision co-director and producer Tammy Burnstock and historical scent technology aficionado Jas Brooks to discuss all things scent in cinema. Tammy and Jas share how they believe scent as a medium can convey messages and enhance cinematic experiences, and explain how you can make something as “uncontrollable” as scent actually work using a variety of different delivery systems. They also share examples of movies where scent was used to take the viewer to places they've never been, and explain why, if not done properly, that can become problematic. Jas takes Frauke through the start of scent in cinema and highlights examples of scent-filled movies that have been produced over the past 100 years.
