Bubba was a 3-time All-Southwest Conference player at Arkansas. Though successful with the Hogs, he didn't have an illustrious pro career. Bubba signed as an amateur free agent with the Yankee’s organization in 1991. He then slaved away in the minor leagues for 9 years before finally being called up to the big leagues—a day he reflects on as one of the greatest in his life.
