Growing up, what kind of family or society did you have?
Did you feel safe and heard there? Were you able to express your heart in a healthy and non-toxic manner? Or maybe, it was a place of trauma and stress?
So for today’s podcast, I invited a good friend of mine to help us navigate through the science of trauma and hopefully find our way toward the healing path.
Dr. Noshene Ranjbar is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson and Director of the Integrative Psychiatry Clinic at Banner – UMC South. She also serves as faculty at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine where she is involved in building health promotion programs within Native communities.
In this episode, Dr. Adrienne and Dr. Noshene unravel the science behind trauma and adverse childhood experiences that affect people all over the world, highlighting how important it is to address and work on such issues.
What you will learn from this episode:
- Understand the science behind trauma
- Find out how trauma impacts an individual as well as that individual’s overall health and well-being
- Acknowledge the paramount significance of addressing issues related to trauma, as we collectively strive towards creating a better world
“Our body and our mind have the capacity to heal itself if given the right tools and enough safety.”
– Dr. Noshene Ranjbar
