On today’s episode, I interviewed the wonderful and extremely knowledgeable, Dr. Leah Gordon, who is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND). While in the world of uncovering and navigating her own journey with hormones, she became passionate about helping others along their journey too. With her work, she aims to detect or catch disease and imbalances in people before they are sick with an autoimmune disease, chronic illness, cancer, etc.On today’s episode we dive into:How hormonal imbalances can let us know really early on, which sources of inflammation or stress happening in your body need to be addressed to prevent disease later in life. What type of symptoms could be coming up for you if you have hormonal imbalances. General tips and tricks to understand your hormones and get back into balance and thus reduce inflammation including your: food choices, methods of stress reduction, and sleep habits. How stress affects our hormones and how to manage your stress so that you’re able to keep in balance. How brith control can affect your hormones and how to shift these imbalances. Dr. Leah and her husband’s journey through infertility over the past five years - finally getting ready to start IVF treatments and then as a result of COVID-19 their journey is on halt. She also dives into the modes of support and healing she is using to cope along this journey. Things that men and women can do on their fertility journeys to support their hormones. If you are ready to make a real shift in your body, you must first be open to listening to what your body is telling you. The things you feel and experience are all just signs your body is using to alert you of an underlying issue. Most of the time these can be resolved with a few minor adjustments to your diet, sleep habits, or mindset - however if left alone for too long, this is when chronic illness or autoimmune issues can start to set in. Dr. Leah suggests working with a Naturopath if you’re feeling out of balance and also just starting to work on adjusting your diet and balancing your circadian rhythm and your blood sugars. She has generously added a resource for you to her Tribe Medicine website (listed below) on how you can start implementing these things!Get in touch with Dr.Leah Gordon, ND:Personal Instagram: @drleahgordonBusiness Instagram: @tribemedicineWebsite: http://tribemedicine.com/freeJoin Michelle's New Private Facebook Group and be a part of all her Live events, sign up here: https://mailchi.mp/muvelife/muvingforward
