144: Meaningful Alignment: The Outside Game: Susan Steinbrecher STaR Coach Show

    • Entrepreneurship

Difficult conversations are part of life. We have varying degrees of conflict both at home with loved ones and in the workplace. Managing conflict is a huge part of what we as coaches help our clients figure out for their growth. Wouldn’t it be beneficial to navigate these interactions with increased awareness, engagement, and alignment? You’re in the right place to hear expert advice about the steps you can take for improvement.

Susan Steinbrecher co-authored Meaningful Alignment: Mastering Emotionally Intelligent Interactions at Work and in Life with Dr. Robert Schaefer. You may remember him as last week’s guest who shared with us “the inside game” of our emotional regulation to show up in conversations more effectively. In today’s show, Susan shares elements of “the outside game,” which is how we show up with one another to have more effective communication. Susan is a business consultant, licensed mediator, speaker, and CEO of Steinbrecher and Associates, Inc. Her company is a managing consulting firm providing professional development services such as executive coaching, group facilitation, and leadership training. Susan has also written two other books: Heart-Centered Leadership and Kensho. Through her many years of experience, Susan was able to create the program outlined in Meaningful Alignment. Susan will share with us step-by-step instructions for handling difficult conversations and creating more effective relationships by gaining more alignment with others.

Show Highlights:

* How Meaningful Alignment came about because of the disconnection and misalignment in homes and workplaces

* The book focuses on helping people navigate challenging conversations

* Why Susan and Dr. Schaefer chose a novel format for the book

* What Susan sees in organizations regarding conflict

* Why the Meaningful Alignment program was created and why it’s unique

* Managing emotions in the inside and the outside game

* How leaders can increase their awareness
