2 Fast 2 Forever: The Fast and Furious Podcast Joey Lewandowski and Joe Two

We're headed back to the other timeline (??) to talk about Hobbs & Shaw with returning guest Kate Hudson! To coincide with the launch of her new podcast, Bravo Replay, we're wondering: which F&F movie is the most like a reality show? Which reality stars most closely align with Hobbs & Shaw? We get Kate's revised rankings (and her history with IMDb's Crazy Credits) before we discuss patron Randy Carter's theory of this as a future movie. We posit a world where Dom Toretto becomes a mass murderer, how Hobbs & Shaw feels different from the other latter-day F&F movies, and whether Deckard Shaw cleans his lair or pays someone to do it. Kate unveils a plan to bring back Ja Rule while Joe unveils a new spinoff dream. Kate makes a plea to make these movies horny again and Joe, in turn, proposes some new slash fiction. We complain about more pop culture references from this movie, discuss a fashion rarity, and debate whether this movie has the best F&F soundtrack. We share a new crossover idea (that we may have already talked about) and some related stunt casting. Kate makes BDWHAPFY entirely too suggestive.

Happy Thanksgiving! We're trying to get home to our families -- any way we can -- to talk about Planes, Trains & Automobiles! After trying to think of the (very) few Thanksgiving-based movies that have been made, we talk about the (insane) original runtime of this movie, John Hughes's original casting ideas, and the wild things this production decided to (or had to) spend money on. We talk about traveling before 9/11, our biggest travel frustrations (and biggest travel tips), and tales of car rental agency terror. We discuss Joe buying a "magic fingers" bed for his guest room and discover a wild Seinfeld connection within another Seinfeld connection. We praise John Candy's performance.

We're firing up the zombie cars once again as we talk about The Fate of the Furious with Joshua Gulam, Fraser Elliott, and Sarah Feinstein, the co-editors of Full-Throttle Franchise! We talk about their book -- an academic book about Fast & Furious (published with Bloomsbury Press) -- where the idea came from, new descriptions and theories found within the text, and how they incorporate it (and the franchise) into the teaching. We also talk about the action highlights of The Fate of the Furious, how easy it was for Cipher to lure in Dom, and when the idea of "fate" was added to the screenplay. We explore some of the weirder lines of dialogue in Fate, whether our guests approve of Rita Ora's role in Fast & Furious 6, and who they'd cast as Papa Shaw. Also: we get three sets of rankings and three character quizzes!

Happy Halloween! We're joined by returning guest (and lover of schlock) Christian Larson to talk about Troma's 1986 film Monster in the Closet. Shot in 1983 (but released three years later), this kids movie (?) marks the film debut of Paul Walker (and also Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson). We talk about our history with Troma, the movie's sort of surprising tone, and its earworm (or not) xylophone song. We explore Paul Walker's star turn (and his character's multiple Nobel prizes?!), the movie having simply too many professors, and the incredible kid logic of its ending. We discuss whether movie is actually a gay allegory, why Guy Maddin may have used it in The Green Fog, and its wild "special thanks" list.
