Too staid

I was looking for a daily devotional, applicable to modern life situations, presented from moderate-liberal (inclusive) theological perspective. I found this and was hopeful. The problem is, it’s hard to listen to. I’ve listened to about five different ones now. All the “readers” have rather monotone voices. They’re all READING instead of telling us a story, which in my opinion would be way more engaging, captivating, memorable.
Also, why don’t the authors of the various devotions read their own stories? I think that detracts a bit from the authenticity and (potential) warmth of the delivery.

I had high hopes. Let me know if this gets re-worked.
