Matthew 28:18-20, And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Is baptism required for our salvation? Is there a right or wrong way to baptize? Is there a right or wrong time to be baptized? Over the years, there is certainly a variance in the beliefs about baptism. Of course, there is a proper way to approach these questions about baptism—look to the Scriptures and allow them to speak for themselves.

When we do that, it is incumbent upon us not to be driven by traditions, but rather by our obedience to the Word of God. As the old cliche goes, “I know there is a God, and I know I am not Him.” Thus, we must not add to or take away from the Bible teaches about all subjects, including baptism.
