45. What Is Abandonment Trauma‪?‬ HOW MY PARENTS RAISED ME

How does creativity heal trauma?
Aunia had no voice. Surviving in a home heavy in generational trauma she felt completely unseen and unheard. Trauma at home and trauma at school. There was very little light or shade. Deep in trauma Aunia attempted to take her own life. By her twenties Aunia was living with an undiagnosed chronic illness. Forced to give up study she turned to art to get her through. To work through the trauma. To make sense of it all. Unable to come into contact with her beloved paint and pencils due to her illness she turned to digital art and flourished. And there were so many co-incidences in who she met and where her art took her that you can see the deep purpose in this journey. Our trauma is so often the link to our purpose and when you see all the things that Aunia is doing in the world it is so obvious this is what she came here to do. To bring beauty to the world and teach others how to heal through art and creativity and colour. Aunia Kahn is a multi-faceted creative entrepreneur and a globally awarded, collected, and exhibited artist/photographer, graphic/web designer, the host of the Create & Inspire Podcast, a published author, as well as a teacher and an inspirational speaker. For years her art was based on survival. Now, entering another phase of her life, her work has transitioned into a narrative of personal evolution and highlights how grateful she is to still be alive. Aunia is teaching us how to heal through art. Please come and hear what she has to say.
