This weekly show features the staff of 4PlayerNetwork.com as they discuss video games (both old and new), game industry news, and respond to feedback from the community! Whether you play games on PC or console (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo) or want to hear about the latest Triple-A release or a low-budget indie darling, nothing is overlooked here! New episodes are recorded live every Thursday night at 8pm (CST) on 4PP.tv and are made available online the following day.
4Player Podcast #706 - 2022 Could be Cool (A Comprehensive Preview of the 2022 Release Schedule)
In our first episode of 2022, we take an in-depth look at all of the games that expected to launch in the year to come! In the first segment we cover all of the games with an expected release date or release window. After the break, we run through a big list of projects that have been announced that may drop in 2022 as well. It's a big list of well over 100 games put together by our lovely community! We cover everything from a fun new Supraland expansion to the highly anticipated release of Final Fantasy XVI! We also spend a shocking amount of time talking about Starship Troopers... Happy New Year!
4Player Podcast #705 - The Christmas Miracle Show (Halo Infinite, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, Ready or Not, and More!)
This week, we are blessed with a Christmas miracle! Carlos joins the call on the spot and stays for the entire show! Not only do we deliver our final thoughts on the 'Halo Infinite' campaign (minor spoiler warning) but Krispy brings impressions of 'Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach' and it sounds kind of amazing! Chris Davis talks about his time with the promising (but somewhat controversial) 'Ready or Not' - a game that harkens back to the classic SWAT series. In the 2nd segment, Nick talks briefly about 'Lost in Random' and we delve into our first batch of community emails!
4Player Podcast #704 - Paganism will Save Us (Halo Infinite, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Splinter Cell Remake News, and More!)
The usual crew is joined by community guest, TheDrunkenMerchant, to talk at length about the new campaign for 'Halo Infinite' - a game that seems made to appease fans of the series and welcome newcomers in equal measure. Krispy talks about his experience with 'Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker' now that the hotly anticipated expansion is out. In the second segment, we roundup all of the big announcements from 'The Game Awards' and talk with Chris Davis about the surprise announcement of a 'Splinter Cell' remake!
4Player Podcast #703 - Screw Bobby Kotick (Predicting The Game Awards, Shakedown Hawaii, The Forgotten City, and More!)
As the years winds to a close, we start to delve into all the fun conversations that come with the Holiday season. With 'The Game Awards' scheduled to air next week, we talk about the nominees and rattle off an extensive list of games that may or may not make their debut at the big show. As always, take it all with a grain of salt and prepare yourself for some level of disappointment. In the second segment, we also run through impressions of Shakedown Hawaii, The Forgotten City, Metal Gear Solid 4, and more!
Mark your calendars! You can tune in and watch the Game Awards along with us next week on Twitch! The show is airing on Thursday, December 9th starting at 7:00pm CST.
4Player Podcast #702 - We are Thankful for Elden Ring & Halo Infinite
To those who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving! We here at 4Player are thankful to have such a lively and active community in Discord and on Twitch. So with that in mind, we did something a little bit different this week. We recorded two distinct segments featuring an upcoming game and brought in a community guest to talk about them! First up is Elden Ring! Our long time community liason, Jager, has been playing the hell out of the Elden Ring network test and came aboard this week to talk about his experience and answer our questions. In the 2nd segment, we are joined by TheDrunkenMerchant to talk about our time playing the new Halo Infinite multiplayer beta! As it turns out, both of these games show a LOT of promise...
4Player Podcast #701 - The Sense of Humor Simulator (Inscryption, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Alan Wake Remastered, and More!)
After rattling off a few quick mentions such as Breath of the Wild, Alan Wake Remastered, and Sackboy's Big Adventure, we finally take a deeper dive into Inscryption. This game is a card-based deck builder that finds really creative ways of blending with elements of atmospheric horror and escape room design. Nolan has continued his Metal Gear run by jumping into Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker which seems like it may be the strangest entry in the beloved franchise. Of course, we also answer questions from our supporters which leads to some diverse and fun discussions.
Top Tier Show
I’m not gonna bother with this review, just read what the “Werewolf” guy said previously.
Some things never change.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for many years and it’s one of those shows that never seems to evolve or grow up but it’s still enjoyable much of the time. They are at times very spoily and while they do give a warning it is often very short before they jump right into it and even on things that are new. Probably one of my least favorite things about the show is the guests they have on fairly often, at least half of them add nothing to the show and in fact, detract from it with weird tangents. It seems like a show that is stuck in the past, which seems to work for their community as they to also feel stuck in the past and haven’t quite evolved in a way.Overall I would say give the show try and if they’re weird brand of humor strikes you then you may enjoy the show, I just wish they would do more of what makes the show good and not what is keeping them where they are.
Great banter, no annoying ad breaks
I find a lot of video game podcasters annoying, but these guys strike the right balance between joking around and discussing what’s good or bad about the games they’re playing. Plus you don’t have to endure or skip past a bunch of super annoying ad breaks.
