For this episode, I invited Dr. Hortencia Jimenez. She is a sociologist, author, and health coach. Her work and research as a sociologist focus on Latinx communities in the United States. Dr. Jimenez has several publications in leading journals in sociology and Latino studies. For this conversation, Dr. Jimenez shares her story of coming to the US from Mexico as a child and what helped her heal from difficult past experiences. We also discuss her work on dismantling oppressive diet culture to help people heal their relationship with food and body.
