63. Concussion Box: Addressing the Isolation of Concussions; An Interview with Eliana Bloomfield The Concussion Coach

    • Self-Improvement

Dealing with a concussion can be such a lonely and isolating experience. There are so many factors that play into that isolation -- fear of rejection, social anxiety, delayed processing speed, word-finding challenges, depression, overstimulation, etc. Eliana Bloomfield experienced a concussion and its associated isolation, and she decided to do something about it for others who may be experiencing similar challenges. She started a non-profit organization with the aim of fighting concussion-related isolation by creating and giving out physical boxes with comforting and useful items to concussion victims, and creating a digital library of stories from concussion victims, care-givers, and medical professionals to help people know they are not alone in their experience. In this interview, Eliana shares her personal story of concussion recovery as well as how Concussion Box is making a difference for people around the world.
