It has been a long while since ACOFAE read a heist book! Imagine Laura Marie's surprise when she went in blind and discovered a heist! Imagine Jessica Marie's surprise when she went in and found 6 POV's! Imagine the collective surprise when ACOFAE discovered that not only did they enjoy the book, but they were having FUN! Mai Corland's new release Five Broken Blades has it all: court politics, crime, a princess in disguise, love stories, and action! The action is what keeps you on the edge of your seat as the chapters get shorter and the plot thickens until we ultimately discover who was at the center of the scheme. Neither Laura Marie or Jessica Marie saw THE THING coming which was delightful on all fronts. Oh and there's a poison maiden. You know ACOFAE loves that.

Thank you for the wonderful ride
I found this show in search of some fellow humans who had tackled the emotional rollercoaster that is Manacled (and you absolutely nailed the breakdown). I stayed for the wonderful surprise that was Jessica sobbing over the Clockwork Princess in the same way that I did back in 2014 (and the few times I've allowed myself to read it since). You gave me a small community to join when I've ridden the Shadowhunter train solo for so long.
It's hard to find others who like to deep dive in a way that is so raw. It's ok to hate a bit, it's definitely ok to love and it's encouraged to cry. I love this approach to reading and the mentality these women show up with in every episode - and for tackling some cannons that are greatly enjoyed by so many, and also hated upon by many as well :) you handle it with grace, humor and emotional intellect. I love to listen!
