An Island of Respectful Political Debate and Intellectual Inquiry

I've been listening to podcasts for about 8 years, now, and have around thirty or forty podcasts on rotation on the podcast app at any given time. They range from philosophy, economics, and psychology, to serious political analysis. I say this, because I've found only a very few that were able to discuss serious, often technical, and morally weighty subjects with as much humor, sensitivity, and intellectual honesty as the three hosts on A Few Reasonable Words. There is none of the ad-hominem that has become de rigueur these days when discussing these topics. There are no straw man conservative arguments, and no cartoonish characterizations of libertarian or right wing views. There are no asides to reassure listeners that a particular view is most certainly not held by the hosts. There is joking, friendly ribbing, and serious philosophical debate on immigration, the structure of our political systems, and how we as citizens interact with and influence each other through them. This little podcast is an island of respectful political debate and inquiry in a sea of false balance and overt partisanship. I would encourage anyone who is interested in politics, morality, rights, or cultural trends to give it a listen.

The Most Necessary Podcast of 2016 & Beyond

3 intelligent (and dare I say, funny!) professors somehow manage to teach you civics, political science and a splash of social psychology while keeping everything fact based and outside of the circus of partisan acrobatics. This election year has shown us the consequences of when large swaths of citizens have no idea what political process, platforms and voting even mean. Recommend and share with everyone you know who's concerned about the 2016 US presidential election.

A Breath of Fresh Air

This podcast has just the right mix of insight and analysis from highly informed professionals. I listen to a lot of political podcasts and most of them are journalists offering political analysis from the perspective of the horse race. These professors offer more actual information about the process. It's interesting and everybody - red or blue - can learn something by listening.
