    The Pharmacology of Sin

    The Pharmacology of Sin

The word “sin” drips with centuries of religious baggage, conjuring images of fire and brimstone preachers and penitent souls begging for redemption. But what lies beneath the surface of this concept? In this episode, we’ll embark on a journey through the history and philosophy of sin, tracing its etymological origins, its central role in Christian thought, and its surprising resonances with ideas from Greek philosophy, Lacanian psychoanalysis, and the religious traditions of India. We’ll explore sin’s paradoxical nature as both a stain on the human condition and a path to transformation and transcendence—the pharmacology of sin.

Dogmatic Thinking Be Damned

When I stumbled upon this podcast I was intrigued by its title. I half expected the content to merely be a collection of blasphemous analyses of the Bible but, much to my pleasant surprise, that is not what I found. Not that I have a problem with blasphemy – I too consider myself a non-theistic Satanist – but the creator of this content maintains a high degree of scholarly integrity as he critically analyzes a wide variety of topics including but not limited to religious texts, beliefs, and dogmas, philosophical arguments, and societal and economic constructs. This has quickly become my favorite podcast and I cannot recommend it enough.
