The people of God are a singing people.  The psalmist called on God's people to sing as an act of worship (Psalm 96), and the apostle Paul instructed the Colossians to "sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to the Lord with thankful hearts" (Colossians 3:16 NLT).  A SONG TO THE LORD is offered as an aid to such singing by providing insights and commentary on some of the great hymns and spiritual songs of the Christian faith.
