Songs Of The Week: Last week I played a track Dancing Lights by Wils, a Singaporean singer, who has been recording for 10 years, and has now decided to pack it in. This week I am playing a track of his from 2022, Someone who loves you, a pop dance track, uptempo, about being in love. The song’s very catchy and the video is just lovely. I’ll miss his musical contributions to the rainbow community.

Song Of The Week: Any of the tracks on this weeks playlist could have been single of the week, but I’ve decided on He’s Dancing So Well (I’m Better) by Asbjorn, a Danish artist and 2023 Eurovision contestant. The song is so simple, it’s ultra catchy, and beautifully performed. But really, all the songs this week, could have been single of the week. All killers, no fillers.

Songs Of The Week: Last week it was Orville Peck and Willie Nelson with a powerful rainbow anthem, and this week another powerful rainbow song from David Archuleta called Hell Together. This was inspired by his Mormon mother sending him a text that she had decided to step away from the Church Of Latter Day Saints saying that ‘I don’t want to be somewhere where my children don’t feel welcomed, loved, and accepted … if you’re going to Hell, we are all going to Hell with you.’ Love that, and obviously there is still a lot of work for the rainbow community to do.

Song Of The Week: Orville Peck and Willie Nelson with “Cowboys are frequently secretly fond of each other.” This is a cover of Ned Sublette’s 1981 song. Willie Nelson previously recorded a cover in 2006, but felt it important that this message get out in view of the rise in anti LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and legislation in the USA recently. And so say all of us.

Songs Of The Week: I couldn’t chose between these two tracks, both are brilliant ballads, so they are both joint winners:
ANDREW by Broadway star, singer, TV and film actor Ben Platt. This is such a beautiful ballad, and I love Ben Platt’s voice.
Who Gave You Permission? by Greg Gould, aussie singer and Australia’s Got Talent 2013 runner up. An inspiring power ballad, a force to be reckoned with.

Song Of The Week: I was gonna’ chose Jason Gould’s track Laws Of Desire but he was pipped at the post by aussie singer Alfie Arcuri’s new track HAPPY. Not really a happy song, but a beautiful heartfelt ballad. There are some wonderful dance remixes available from various acclaimed mainly American remixers should you want to ‘happy’ it up.
