Love this new podcast!

This has become my new go-to podcast! Brandy

So relatable!

I love this podcast and the interesting topics Brandy and Shenandoah talk about. Especially episode 12, with Sue Downey, as I am also part of the LGBTQ+ community and have struggled with this specific work/life balance in the past. I actually have experienced the hypothetical scenario Shenandoah mentions towards the end of the episode- my employer didn’t know I was queer and during a conversation he expressed that he would never hire a lesbian to care for his daughters. I didn’t say anything at the time. A year or so later I became engaged to a woman and no longer wanted to keep that part of my life a secret so I had a conversation with him. Needless to say, he was shocked- maybe even a little embarrassed- and still wanted me to work for his family. It’s now been almost 7 years. We don’t agree on most social/political topics but he sees the value in having his children around people with diverse views and beliefs. I have two years left on my contract and will be sad to go once it’s complete 😭 On another note- I’d love to listen to an episode on navigating a nanny career while also starting your own family. Thank you!!
