Who do you confess? - Matthew 10:28-33

Who do you confess? - Matthew 10:28-33

In this sermon, we dive back into Matthew chapter 10 and talk about who we confess. We learn there is no middle ground, you either confess Christ or you deny. We learn that the true confession is the confession that we are not righteous and we cannot obtain salvation apart from His grace! As the cost for confessing Christ gets higher, the genuine continue to stand because He is the one holding us!

"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 10:28-33

In this sermon, we dive back into Matthew chapter 10 and talk about who we confess and who we fear.

It is enough to be like our Master! - Matthew 10:25

It is enough to be like our Master! - Matthew 10:25

In this sermon, we learn what it means to be a true disciple of Christ! We are all slaves, but who is our master? We are all sons, but who is our father? There are only two options, a slave to Christ or a slave to the devil. It is our ambition to be like our Master and it is enough to be like him, even in persecution!

A slave is not above his master! - Matthew 10:24-26

A slave is not above his master! - Matthew 10:24-26

In this sermon, we dive back into our study in Matthew 10.

24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! 26 “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known."

We learn that we are not above our master who is Christ. If we are slaves of Christ, we no longer live for ourselves, but for Him, and in the same way that they treated Christ, they will treat His followers. The question is, are we truly Christ followers?

A disciple is a learner, but we do not merely learn to know what is pleasing to Him, but also to practice what we've learned. Evidence of a genuine believer is that they will practice what they learn, by the grace of the Holy Spirit indwelling them. The Christian is known for their submission, first and foremost to God, and likewise in the institutions that He has called us to in this life. Government, employment, marriage, etc.

One of the BEST resources to learn what the Bible says!

Doug is the best Bible teacher I have found and I can not recommend thes sermons enough. Not only is he gifted by God as a teacher but he studies the Word night and day to be able to teach it accurately. I have never known anyone who cares more about God and listening to His word! We have to listen to what God says to be able to obey Him, and Doug leads us through God’s words so clearly and accurately so we can put it into action. He takes the verse in 2 Tim 2:15 very seriously, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” You will learn SO much as you listen to this teaching. He takes great care to preach THE Word, not his own words or stories. In a day and age where so many cannot bear to hear sound teaching, this podcast stands out like a light! It will absolutely bless you as you further your understanding of God’s word, in a way so many are unwilling to preach it.

Morg Well ,

FINALLY THE TRUTH!!

FINALLY THE TRUTH!! Not your typical, tell you what you want to hear for a quick thirty minutes kind of sermons, but straight scripture. Doug doesn't ask us to just take his word for anything but is always backing his words up with verses, and that makes him so much more trustworthy. Sadly there are A LOT of false teachers out there today deceiving so many. I'm so thankful for the encouragement of Aletheia Fellowship and the teaching of Doug Lovette!! If you want to learn as grow in the truth of God's word, here's your resource.
