Alice Dewey Goldstone, Producer/Production Manager (Hercules, The Lion King, Aladdin, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania‪)‬ Skull Rock Podcast - Disney, Pop-Culture, Animation

    • TV & Film

Aljon Go and Dave Bossert chat with Producer and Production Manager, Alice Dewey Goldstone about her time at Walt Disney Animation's Renaissance. The duo also discusses the latest Disney, movie, streaming, and pop-culture news.

An animation industry veteran, Goldstone's credits include feature films from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Paramount Animation, and Lionsgate. At Disney, Goldstone produced the animated classic “Hercules” (for which she won an Annie Award for Best Individual Achievement: Producing in a Feature Production) and “Home on the Range,” which both featured music from legendary composer Alan Menken. “The Lion King,” for which she served as Associate Producer, remains her most treasured animation experience, bringing an original story and music to audiences around the world. Her first animated feature at Disney was the visual feast, “Aladdin,” for which she worked as the Production Manager. She was very fortunate to have the best possible introduction to the art form, working alongside so many animation legends.

Goldstone's theater training, which included stints at Hartford Stage Company and Manhattan Theater Club, provided her with the experience she needed to succeed in animation. Working with designers, writers, composers and actors in theater translated well to the creative work of leading gifted animation crews. Goldstone was the Production Stage Manager for the Broadway tours of “Les Misérables,” “Big River,” and “Amadeus."

Goldstone also founded and built the current robust mentorship program for Women in Animation, matching hundreds of women with coaches and mentors to foster their development as tomorrow’s industry leaders.
