The Golden Girls Deep Dive Podcast

Oh my word! I LOVE THIS PODCAST! Being called a Cheesecake cracks me up everytime! Can we just call everyone Cheesecake now? Also Patrick’s joy just oozes through the microphone and Jennifer….HELLLOOO…if you LOVE Broadway, you already know what you are getting with her- HILARIOUS and just lovely! This podcast is my new happy place! Great job all around!

Love this podcast! It’s funny and entertaining….love the deep dives. However Jennifer sometimes gets annoying, she’s condescending towards Patrick at times and always feels the need to repeat everything Blanche says after every clip they play. Okay Jennifer, we know you are an actress, no need to remind listeners every 5 mins. Patrick! I think you are awesome!

I was hoping this podcast would be full of insider info- trivia, behind the scenes stuff, lots of tidbits from interviews, talk show appearances over the years. Not so much. What do you get instead? “Blanche enters, in full narcissism,” “coral napkins,” “the minks,” “shoulder pads,” “quark cheese,” “HIYA CHARLIE,” Patrick needing to tell hardly related stories about his daughter. Or his mom. Or his upbringing. (But they have a full time researcher, guys!) What episode is this? All of them. They bring the same content, the same comments to every episode… they overstate everything. “She was SCREAMING” … uhh when? A full rant about Bea Arthur’s feet … I’m sorry? You can’t even see them in the scene. Jennifer has interesting, insightful mentions about comedy, writing, production here and there. But Patrick leaves so much to be desired. The recaps are silly, and usually mean. I honestly listen and wonder what do they even like about the show. So much potential, so little delivered. Bummer.

I love Golden Girls and I love recaps and I love deep dives. This is the perfect combo. A hilarious discussion of each episode with deep dives about characters and culture and actors. Highly recommend.
