Summer In Psalms: Meditation
The Psalms are mostly prayers, and you can learn how to pray by reading them. Psalm 1 is like the starting point for prayer in the book. Even though it doesn't directly talk about prayer, it's more like a meditation. It compares a person who meditates to a tree, to help you understand the concept of meditation.

Being Self-Forgetful
In many traditional cultures, the prevailing belief is that the primary cause of most evil in the world is an excessively high view of oneself, leading to cruelty, abusiveness, and wars. However, in modern Western culture, especially in the United States, the prevailing belief is quite different. Today, many believe that people misbehave due to a lack of self-esteem.
This issue is deeply ingrained in us. It sounds like this: "instead of holding people accountable for making moral judgments, we should focus on building them up and helping them feel better about themselves." Progressives prefer not to condemn behaviors, while conservatives tend to judge people based on their behaviors. What do we do with self-esteem?

Grace And Friendship
In the Bible, friends are often described as "a friend as your own soul." This biblical imagery of friendship goes beyond mere agreement, sexual connection, or shared opinions. Souls knit together implies that you share common loves, passions, beliefs, and interests. Unfortunately, in Western culture, we often prioritize romantic and success-oriented relationships, which often leads to friendship getting overlooked.

Grace And Love
What is the common-sense definition of love? To serve other people rather than yourself. If the reason you are kind and generous to people and your motive for doing it is to count or matter or feel good, it’s really about you. There is no love in it. In Hebrew, the word grace translates to “loving kindness." We need to understand grace to understand love. Take a listen.

An empowering take on faith - Bill explains the Christian faith and connects it to the world we live in today in a new and powerful way. He challenges the listener and encourages us to question our faith in a way that brings you closer to God. LISTEN TO THIS POD!
Great message for all walks of believers, doubters and seekers.
I’ve not come across a better podcast that takes complex, nuanced and difficult topics of the Christian faith and simplifies them while offering practical ways to live out your faith and challenge your doubts. Bill lives the Christian life as a regular guy, even though he’s Oxford PhD educated. He has the same struggles as the majority of us and it’s refreshing to hear his take on the areas of the faith that are hard, anger-inducing or just don’t make sense.
So thankful for this podcast
