    Murderous Matron At Morse Mill

    Murderous Matron At Morse Mill

In August 1928, a woman from a tiny town in Missouri was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder. As you might imagine, the arrest of a 56-year-old woman with a reputation as a nurse and healer in the community where she’d lived wasn’t your run-of-the-mill news story in the late 1920s. It was a shocking event to people who lived in nearby St. Louis, but those from Franklin County, where the woman lived weren’t as surprised.

Murder At Wonderland (The Story Of Laurel Canyon And John Holmes)

It was around 4:00 AM on the morning of July 1, 1981, when several shadowy figures slipped into a multi-level home on Wonderland Avenue in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon. Once inside, they surprised the five sleeping occupants and attacked them with metal pipes, beating them viciously...

    Red Hamilton's Last Hurrah

    Red Hamilton's Last Hurrah

There are stories, rumors, tall tales, and whispers that tell very different stories about the fate of Red Hamilton, John Dillinger's right-hand man for many a heist. There is speculation about where he died, when he actually died, and whether his ghost – or at least the ghost of the man buried in that grave – still haunts a house where someone breathed his last.

The Murder Mansion (The Murders Of Bruce And Darlene Rouse)

The Murder Mansion (The Murders Of Bruce And Darlene Rouse)

It was June 6, 1980, in the normally quiet suburb of Libertyville, Illinois. Located in the heart of Lake County, it was one of the most affluent communities surrounding Chicago. The residents of Libertyville weren’t accustomed to violent crime – those kinds of things don’t happen here, they’d often say. Until they do.

    Goat Castle

A nightly ritual that was decades old on a night in August 1932 would come to a sudden and shocking end, while the legend of the "Wild Man and the Goat Woman" were just beginning.

Love the show!

I love y’alls show. I stumbled on it by accident. I saw Troy on a documentary on titanic. I love his book without a trace and am looking forward to reading part 2. I love listening to the story and then listening to the discussion. Most podcasts just tell the story and that’s the end. I someday would love to come to a event of yours. I live in Indiana so I am close. Maybe someday I’ll make it! Love you guys

Must set the record straight

I take exception to the revue by someone called “boymomma3.” Aside from the sycophant review of Taylor, what chaps my hide is their rather cavalier dismissal of orbs. You may now thank me for finally saying it: “Orbs are balls of light and energy that indicate the presence of a spirit or ghost“ Straight up, this is no lie!

Best show I’ve stumbled upon in a long time

As someone with ADHD, I’m not easily captivated by podcasts, even though I love them when I find the ones that I, um… love! I really love this one! Troy is an incredible researcher and storyteller, and there are no ads that I have to stop and skip through! And it’s still free. 🥹 I can’t tell you how special that is, even though I completely understand the necessity to have ads. I also enjoy the discussions involving Cody, even though normally that’s the kind of thing I can’t hang with! The combination of detailed, historical true crime and hauntings is really up my alley. Thank you so much, guys! I’m way out west in California, but I hope I can make it to one of your events someday. **addendum: they do have some ads, but very few compared to most others I listen to for free**
