Governor Phil Bryant | The 400th Anniversary of the First Thanksgiving Day — Celebrating our Sacred Traditions, Affirming Religious Faith, and the Blessings of Family and Freedom | A Special Edition in Partnership with America First Policy Institute's

Governor Phil Bryant joins America’s Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with an inspiring message, as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day with family and friends and reflect on the 400th Anniversary of the First Thanksgiving Day in the autumn of 1621.

Phil Bryant served as the 64th governor of Mississippi and currently serves on the leadership board of the International Leaders Summit and Jerusalem Leaders Summit as well as a Senior Advisor for the America First Policy’s Center for 1776.

In light of the aggressive elements of the American Left making relentless attempts to eliminate or alter America’s annual feast of Thanksgiving, the discussion focuses on the historical facts surrounding the first Thanksgiving Day in 1621 and the significance of religious faith, sacred traditions and the spirit of thankfulness, giving and unity.

The extraordinary setting of 53 Pilgrims, the early settlers of Massachusetts, joined by 90 Native American warriors in a Thanksgiving feast that lasted for three days are brought to the forefront with the ties forged between the Pilgrims and the region’s most important Chief Massasoit of the Wampanoag tribe.

Why was this a defining moment in the American Founding, what was the sense of purpose presented by the Pilgrims that left an imprint on the national character? What did they see as their responsibilities in the New World?

Take a listen to the answers to these questions and much more in this special Thanksgiving Day edition in partnership with the America First Policy Institute’s Center for 1776.

Brief excerpt from an article published by Michael Medved: “Reshaping Thanksgiving Into a Festival of Guilt" | Link: http://www.michaelmedved.com/column/reshaping-thanksgiving-into-a-festival-of-guilt/

"An American Perspectives survey from the early months of 2021 showed a majority who agree with the statement that “the American way of life is superior to others, and the world would be much better off if more countries adopted American values.” An even higher percentage (73%) agreed that “the US has always been a force for good in the world.”

“Even more surprising, considering the widely reported retreat of conventional religious faith, 45% still aver that “God has granted the country a special role in human history.”

“As we assemble for our Thanksgiving celebrations across the country, may God give us strength to continue that role, and to honor our nation’s past while confirming the determination to keep improving on it.”

    Brief excerpt:
“There are many myths surrounding the First Thanksgiving, but the essential facts are these: In the late summer or autumn of 1621, 52 English men, women and children gathered together with 90 Wampanoag warriors for a three-day feast at what is now Plymouth, Mass. The English were the survivors of the 102 Pilgrims who had sailed on the Mayflower the previous year. The Wampanoag were the indigenous residents of the land on which the English settled and the generous people whose practical assistance made it possible for the newcomers to thrive. The two peoples signed a peace treaty, which lasted for half a century.

“The central similarity between the First Thanksgiving and every subsequent one is something less tangible: a spirit of gratitude. This year, as we mark four centuries of Thanksgivings, Americans will do what we have always done since that original feast: We will express our gratitude with acts of hospitality and charity. Many of us will offer prayers of thanks to the Al

America's Roundtable — Natasha Srdoc's Commentary | The U.S. Economy, Inflation, Growing Debt and Deficit | Importance of Fiscal Responsibility

America's Roundtable Co-Host, Natasha Srdoc, provides a timely commentary on the state of the US economy, and analysis of the $1 trillion infrastructure and $1.87 trillion climate and social spending bills. Is the Biden administration on the verge of building an oppressive government apparatus by employing 87,000 IRS agents to raise $480 billion from American taxpayers, for Americans to be in servitude to a cradle-to-grave welfare state?

Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with special guest U.S. Congressman Mike Bost (R-IL), Ranking Member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee and Member of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for a timely commemoration of Veterans Day 2021 and the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Congressman Bost also address the Biden Administration's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the on-going efforts to rescue Americans and Afghan nationals who risked their lives to help the United States military. On economic front, we discuss the serious concerns of the highest inflation in three decades, the skyrocketing price of food, energy and gas, and discussing the importance of advancing pro-growth solutions.

Congressman Bost's commentary addresses the urgency to help veterans who were exposed to dangerous chemicals from open-air burns pits:

The Washington Times: Wholesale prices hit record highs as inflation soars

“Wholesale prices at the end of October surged by 8.6% since October 2020, the highest year-over-year increase recorded by the federal government since it began tracking the data in 2010, the Labor Department reported Tuesday. The report is bad news for consumers struggling with sticker shock as prices climb. Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with special guest Roger Helmer who served in the political arena as a member of the European Parliament representing the United Kingdom, and serving in the Conservative and the UKIP parties, respectively.

We review the policies proposed at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (also known as COP26) held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. Roger Helmer shares his concerns about the current energy crisis in Europe - and how the transition to renewable sources of energy may adversely impact Americans. Moreover, these policies are examined in light of concerns that they will hurt poor nations in Africa and lead to massive migration movements in the future.

The Wind Turbine Failures Behind Europe's Energy Crisis Are a Warning for America

"The ongoing energy crisis in Europe has shown how nations will experience "growing pains" from a switch to renewable sources of energy including wind power, according to experts who spoke to Newsweek. The situation across the Atlantic may provide a warning for the U.S., with President Joe Biden having set a goal to decarbonize the nation's power grid by 2035 and the whole U.S. economy by 2050. Decarbonizing the power grid will involve a transition to renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, which can be less reliable than traditional fossil fuels. Europe's recent experience with wind turbines could be instructive for the United States. Energy and transport ministers from 27 European Union (EU) countries gathered for an emergency meeting in Luxembourg on Tuesday amid rising fuel costs on the continent. The crisis has come amid a 20 percent reduction in output in the wind power sector and and rising costs of oil and gas, as reported by Forbes."

Roger Helmer served in the political arena as a member of the European Parliament representing the United Kingdom and serving in the Conservative and the UKIP parties, respectively. He started his business career in 1965 with Procter & Gamble, going on to hold senior marketing and general management appointments in a range of companies, including Readers Digest and National Semiconductor.

Mr. Helmer has published two books on European issues, "Straight Talking on Europe" in 2000, and "A Declaration of Independence" in 2002. He also served as Chairman of The Freedom Association in the United Kingdom.

He was a leading figure in the Better Off Out campaign - the Brexit Movement, that called for the UK to leave the European Union.

Mr. Helmer is one of the founding members of Jerusalem Leaders Summit in Israel and has spoken at numerous events organized by the International Leaders Summit in Washington, DC, Brussels, and Eastern Europe.
