"Don't allow the white noise to derail you", filmmaker Brian Hooks

Art Shrian talks with director, actor and producer Brian Hooks, has an incredible project under his production company, Left of Bang Entertainment. Working to change the violent cycle inner-city youth face, Left of Bang Entertainment works closely with at-risk youth to provide them the opportunity to take part in real filmmaking and production.  Given the setbacks due to COVID-19, Left of Bang is launching a virtual filmmaking school in February with celebrity guest appearances as part of its initiative to give youth the opportunity to work in the film industry, and ultimately create a more diverse and inclusive Hollywood.

"I was thinking about suicide rates going up and I said ‘I've got to figure out a way to push forward, because these kids don't really have the liberty to wait until COVID is over," Hooks states, "If these kids had to choose between shooting a gun or shooting a movie, they would choose the latter every time."
