Colin Cowherd Podcast - Nick Wright Part 2: Brady As A Broadcaster, Athletes vs. Artists, Shedeur Sanders Tanking His Stock?
Colin is joined by Nick Wright, host of “First Things First” on FS1!
Nick explains why the GIANTS won the draft because of a trade they weren’t able to make (2:00). They talk about why it’s painfully obvious that Tom Brady still wants to play football and break down why Brady’s competitive nature will make him a great broadcaster (11:00).
They wax philosophically about having a “competitive mentality” and how it drives them (14:30). Colin compares athletes and artists, and marvels at how athletes are unique in being able to continue to become even greater AFTER being paid, and why greatness in sports doesn’t make you a target of worship… it makes you a target. They list the biggest stars in sports and debate which are artists or athletes (21:30)
Finally, they talk about how Spencer Rattler hurt his draft stock based on how he was viewed in an old documentary, and why Shedeur Sanders talking trash online could hurt his stock as well (36:00).

Colin Cowherd Podcast - Nick Wright Part 1: NBA Is Still Great…Just Not In January, Market Size MATTERS, Big NFL Draft Swings
Colin is joined by Nick Wright, host of “First Things First” on FS1!
They start by talking about why the NBA is still fantastic, just not in January (3:00) and why the NBA needed to start pivoting to the younger generation of stars sooner than they have (8:00). They push back on the narrative that the size of a team’s market doesn’t matter (11:45), why LeBron was an outlier in being the only true “face of the league” playing in a small market (14:00) and why this Knicks playoff run is huge for the league (23:00).
Nick explains why he can predict the Chiefs opponent in their home opener based on the size of their opponent’s brand and the narrative surrounding them (23:00). Colin offers his theory on why cap space isn’t as debilitating as advertised and why teams need to be confident in taking big swings, a la Atlanta drafting Michael Penix…but Nick pushes back (30:00).
Don’t forget to check back for part two of the conversation with Nick Wright!

Customer Reviews
Love Colin/show (when Jmac doesn’t talk)…
I love the show when it’s just Colin. I really like Colin’s interviews. But Jmac is not my jam at all. I honestly skip ahead when I hear him come on. Loved/miss Joy. Liked Christine.
Excited for Jmac to get another gig and have Colin with a new partner.
Best sports show
Colin and JMac are great. I like this show for sports talk. Colin is funny and gives, IMO, ' a pro football GM’s viewpoint. Worth the listen for 3 hours.
Enjoy the show
Colin quiet. Commercials loud. Please remove all the other podcasts and reorder the episodes to play in order. Will resubscribe when this is done.
