    In this season of the Black Girl Theology podcast, we talked all about transitions and how hard, heartbreaking, and healing they can be.
    In today’s episode, I wanted to lean into what Mo Brooks touched on at the end of episode five. At the end of that episode, I asked him what advice he had for someone who was struggling to receive God’s love or was feeling unworthy of it. He encouraged us to do three things:
    1. Be with Jesus
    2. Become like Jesus
    3. Do what Jesus did

    This week’s Black Girl Theologian is Yolanda M. Solomon.
    Yolanda is the Director of Discipleship at Epiphany Church in Brooklyn, New York where she teaches and creates discipleship curriculum and resources. Yolanda has also worked in campus ministry at Columbia University in New York where she was blessed to serve undergraduate students for eight years.
    Yolanda is the author of Discipleship As Holy Collaboration: Helping Others Follow Jesus in Real Life which will be released in May 2024.
    Yolanda is a disciple of Christ, a Brooklyn native and a lifelong Knicks fan which richly fuels her prayer life. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family.

    In today’s episode, we are talking with Mo Brooks about how every aspect of his life shifted when he made this ONE transition in his theology.

    This week’s BGT is Pricelis (Pree-Cell-Ease) Perreaux-Dominguez. Pricelis is a passionate coach, Bible teacher, advocate, writer, and entrepreneur who ministers to her community through coaching, curating spaces, and creating resources - especially in the areas of Biblical justice, theology, callings, and spiritual abuse/church trauma.
    She is the CEO and Founder of Full Collective, a community where she ignites women to live FULL lives in Jesus. She also hosts a podcast called Yas and Amen, as well as an annual conference called the Sowers Summit.
    Pricelis is a native New Yorker who live in NYC with her husband of 9 years and their 2 year old son, Moses.

    About Mo Brooks
    Mo was proudly raised in Kalamazoo, MI. In December 2024, he will graduate with his Master's Degree in Organizational Change Leadership at Western Michigan University (WMU).
    Adjectives others used describing Mo: transparent, high character, optimistic, activating people, energizing, and a high-impact leader. Mo Brooks is a leader who has a successful track record of facilitating change within environments that position organizations and individuals to change.
    He is the author of three books (Unmasked - The Courage to be You, 180 - How to Turn your Life Around, and Smoke-Free - 7 Mistakes to Avoid When You Decide to Stop Smoking), an ordained minister, an Eric Thomas certified speaker/coach, and a Gallup Strengths Certified Coach. Mo finds joy in spending quality time with his wife and three beautiful children when not immersed in his professional endeavors. His interests include playing basketball, traveling, and reading. Mo is known for his dynamic communication style and impacting lives worldwide.

    Morgan Makail, also known as, The Faith Coach, is a Jesus lover, author, speaker, and faith-based entrepreneur, who helps millennial women walk boldly in their faith. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and a Master’s degree from Baylor University in Clinical Social Work. While at EMU Morgan founded WarriHERs, a Christian women’s organization turned membership community, that helps sustain women on the path of righteousness.
    Morgan’s goal is to impact all generations of women to step boldly into who God has called them to be, walk confidently in their purpose, and not let fear hold them back from the promises of God.

Toni is teaching people all over the globe that you can be broken and still worthy, or feel unqualified and still be called to do great things.

    She is the author of several books including Voices of Lament; Journey to Freedom (Exodus Bible study); A Sojourner’s Truth; Hope for Us: Knowing God through the Nicene Creed Bible study; and Mentor for Life. She started her blog in 2010, A Sista’s Journey, where she writes about being a servant in God’s kingdom with a focus on leadership, mentoring, reconciliation, and biblical justice.

So Rich and Refreshing!

Black Girl Theology is such a rich and refreshing podcast! I truly enjoyed tuning in and would recommend it to any woman looking to expand her knowledge on the Word of God. Ashtyn is an incredible host!
