One of the best movie Podcasts out there!

Griffin and David are incredibly knowledgeable about film and are also hilarious and pull off some great bits over the course of the pod. So good I started with a couple recent eps(June2020) and had to go back to beginning and listen to them all. So so good.

Hello, Fennel!

I started listening to Blank Check during the Burton mini-series and I have finally caught up through all the older episode. Griffin, David, Ben, Ang, Rachel, and all the other people that keep the pod going are amazing!

Good podcast that's just shy of greatness

When Blank Check is good, it's really good. They have a deep and mostly informative knowledge about the industry and the films they're covering. I like when they touch upon the background trivia to most films. Depending on who they guest is, usually they are just as knowledgable and informative and bring a lot to the table.

That being said, when Blank Check is bad, it is very insufferable at times. The bits are so grating and the worst part is that they, specifically David, acknowledge how bad the bits are and yet continues to let Griffin partake in them. It's distracting, overlong and simply not funny, especially when some of the guests play along with the bits. The bits extend to their ad breaks too, so a lot of skipping around is required.

I don't mean to harshly criticize, I just hope that they'll listen to the comments and make adjustments because I'm not entirely aware if they realize that people don't like the bits. The bits seem too elitist, egotisical and insider-y to the point of alienation. When they stay on the subject of movies, whether it's on or off topic, it's electric stuff. That's why they're just shy of greatness. Eliminate the bits, choose guests who are well-versed in the subject and you've got yourself a 5-star podcast.
