Her roommate and friend was the main suspect until police found DNA evidence pointing to an unknown male.

Fun Fact: Mountain Dew was created in Tennessee back in the 1940's, Knoxville was one of the first cities it was marketed to!

    114. [Texas] Serial Killer: Daniel Lee Corwin

This week we are covering a serial killer out of Huntsville, Texas. Daniel Lee Corwin killed three women in the East Texas area and attempted to kill two others. He was finally caught when one of his victims survived and was determined to find her attacker.

Fun Fact: The Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville opened in 1849, one year after the state legislature created the penitentiary system. As the first state prison in Texas, the Huntsville site soon became known as the "Walls Unit" for the 15-foot brick wall that surrounds the prison yard.

    113. [South Carolina] Elaine Fogle

We are headed to Texas this week where a double homicide went cold for 30 years until a call from several states away breaks the case wide open.

Fun Fact: In some Texas cities, you need a permit to walk barefoot. It is required to purchase a $5 permit before walking around barefoot, in order to avoid the city’s code governing “sanitation and appearance."

    111. [Georgia] Cyndi Williams and Lori Brown

We are back from our short hiatus and covering a double homicide out of Georgia.  Two women were brutally murdered in the middle of the day at a real estate office.  With an unclear motive, police must piece together why these two young women's lives were cut short and find the monster who did it before he strikes again.

Fun Fact:  It is illegal to eat chicken with a fork in Gainesville, Georgia.  In 1961, they enacted a law stating that chicken was a delicacy and must be eaten with your hands.  It was mainly a publicity stunt, but the law is still on the books today!

We are headed to Texas this week where a young mother is brutally murdered while working her overnight cleaning job. All signs point to the husband but without enough evidence they have to let him go. It would take decades to finally bring the killer to justice.

Fun Fact: Be careful, you could be married without being present! Texas is a common law marriage state, which means you are considered legally married if the couple makes three public announcements that they’re married. Moreover, a couple can be considered legally married even if the other spouse isn’t present for the ceremony.
