When I asked Bridget when how old she was when she knew that she wanted to do social work, she replied, “I just knew in my soul that I wanted to help others.” She doesn’t remember ever wanting to do anything else, and she’s led a life entirely devoted to service. I had the privilege of meeting Bridget because of the charity work Berge Toyota has done with A New Leaf, the non profit where Bridget has worked for over 30 years. Serving thousands of meals a week, housing hundreds of women who have escaped domestic violence, feeding and housing hundreds of homeless men and women, including veterans, A New Leaf is the undisputed champion in our community. And Bridget is the most compassionate, loving, and selfless person I’ve ever met. I love her and I love this organization. She shares her story of being adopted, her parents divorcing when she was 6, and then her mom kicking her out of the house at age 13 before sh started her lifelong journey of unconditional love and service.
