The Hawks Offense is REAL; Brock Goes Off on UW

The Hawks Offense is REAL; Brock Goes Off on UW

Remember all that consternation about whether the Hawks offense was going to work after not being able to see it in the preseason? Yeah...Brock and Salk were blown away. Why did it take 9 years of Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson to get to an offense that clicked so smoothly?

The Mariners playoff run is at a critical juncture, but Salk saw something this week that proved to him that the team culture has changed from the negative one that has existed for much of the playoff drought--and it's why he believes this team's playoff run isn't over now, while the drought might be soon enough.

Brock has seen enough of the Washington Huskies in the first 2 games of the season. He sounds off with some frustrations to a level you may have never heard from him before.

How Shane Waldron's Offense in 2021 Will Determine the Future of Russell Wilson & The Hawks

How Shane Waldron's Offense in 2021 Will Determine the Future of Russell Wilson & The Hawks

The Hawks' kick off the 2021 season this Sunday, and after having watched virtually no starters in the preseason, Brock & Salk are left wondering what to expect when the Hawks take the field for the first time. With new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron installing a new offense this year, Salk believes that his success--or failure--could determine not only the ceiling of the '21 season, but the future of Russell Wilson in Seattle. Brock believes that Waldron's offense may be ideally suited for Wilson's skillset.

With new contract extensions for Scott Servais and Jerry Dipoto, Brock & Salk celebrate what they view as a positive step for the Mariners in their pursuit of the playoffs in the near future. Has Yusei Kikuchi pitched himself out of the Mariners' future plans?

Howdy is heated about the Huskies' embarrassing loss to Montana, and Brock breaks down the tape to explain why it happens. Is Jimmy Lake's job on the line? Will the Dawgs turn to true freshman Sam Huard at QB?

The Seahawks 2021 Season Hinges on These 4 Players

The Seahawks 2021 Season Hinges on These 4 Players

The Hawks preseason is over, and with most of the starters on offense sitting on the sidelines up to this point, who's to say how good this team actually is? Brock Huard, of course! Brock walks through the questions he's had answered over the last month by this team's roster construction and play on the field, highlights the questions that remain, and debates with Mike Salk the small group of players who will likely decide the Seahawks' fate in 2021.

Salk identifies his candidates for surprise star of the year for the Mariners, and how Mariners fans should be crediting the Mets for their success this season--and not because of Jarred Kelenic. Finally, Brock gets a taste of humble pie with "Mean Tweets" while Salk shares his obsession with the Mets' "thumbs down" controversy that has a weird connection with Brooks Koepka.

Why Pete Carroll is Changing his Philosophy in 2021

Why Pete Carroll is Changing his Philosophy in 2021

Has Pete Carroll completely changed his "always compete" philosophy, and if so, are the Hawks better off for it? Brock & Salk are joined by FOX NFL anchor and Seahawks preseason play-by-play announcer Curt Menefee as they get to the bottom of why the Hawks have looked so uncompetitive in the preseason...and why, for the first time under Pete Carroll, that won't mean anything about whether this team is good in the regular season.

The Mariners are in the midst of the most surprisingly competitive Mariners team in Scott Servais and Jerry Dipoto's tenure with Seattle. Salk explains why he believes Servais deserves to win "Manager of the Year" for his team's performance, and why the Mariners had better lock him up to a contract extension before other teams pry him away this offseason.

Brock breaks down the new college football alliance that's brewing between the PAC 12, ACC and BIG10, and a 4 letter word that sums up why this move is being made in Blue 88.

The Mariners remain in a postseason race, but if they miss the Wildcard, should the Mariners wait another year before spending big in free agency? Salk looks at some recent MLB dynasties for answers.

The opening weekend of the NFL showcased a handful of interesting young QBs--did any stand out as the next Russell Wilson or Patrick Mahomes? Brock has some interesting insight on one rookie he believes is poised to rise above the rest.

Brock Huard's EXCLUSIVE Inside Access to the Pro Football Hall of Fame; Hawks "Hold-Ins" Starting to Get Worrisome

Was Brock Huard given a personal invitation from Peyton Manning to attend his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Of course he was. He's Brock Huard! Brock shares some incredible interactions with NFL legends behind the scenes in Canton, Ohio.

The Mariners made some aggressive moves at the deadline, but the M's win/loss record has been markedly worse since than before the deals were made. Did the M's get better, or did they ruin a good thing? Salk has some strong thoughts about the state of the Mariners as they head into the stretch run.

Jamal Adams' contract situation has linger significantly longer than Brock & Salk anticipated--when are the alarm bells going to go off? Does Duane Brown's "hold in" as he waits for a contract extension tip the Seahawks' hand when it comes to how they will approach Russell Wilson after the end of the season? Find out in Blue 88.

Welcome back!

Brock and Salk should still be required to have a podcast in addition to Salks new morning show. Welcome back Salk! We missed you!

10 year daily listener ,

Show lost its juice

You know, Salk always talks about how he doesn’t like certain people and can’t stand listening to them because they’re just a huge jerk. I used to think his rudeness to fellow radio hosts over the years was sarcastic inside joke banter, only to find out that once people were laid off (in distasteful ways) or moved on from 710, how it all circled back to Salk being an actual jerk to all his employees. Even accusations of sexual harassment in the workplace. How can I listen to a guy who sits on his high horse preaching about coaching boys into men when he needs that coaching himself? Was a loyal listener since the inception of this pod (and their morning show since 2011) but have since unsubscribed and deleted the 710 app. Unfortunate the skeletons coming out of Salk’s closet is costing you longstanding listeners.

Mostly a waste of time

Brock is great, Salk is not, the rest of the crew is terrible. Most of this podcast is Mike Salk attempting to be funny, giving uninformed sports takes and the producers laughing loudly at Mike Salk’s stupid jokes. I listen for Brocks insight & opinions on football, the rest of the podcast is godawful. Remember 2010, when KIRO Sports radio was the best station in town? Well, those days are long gone. Not sure what happened, but now KIRO is total garbage other than Brock, Wyman and Bumpus.
