Buried Bones - a historical true crime podcast with Kate Winkler Dawson and Paul Holes

On Buried Bones, journalist Kate Winkler Dawson and retired investigator Paul Holes dissect some of history’s most compelling true crime cases from centuries ago. Together, they explore these very old cases through a 21st century lens. With their years of expertise and knowledge of modern forensics, they reflect on how far science has come and bring new insight to old mysteries. Together, Kate and Paul have examined many cases including the 1932 Lindbergh baby kidnapping, the first time fingerprinting was used as evidence in a courtroom and a possible serial killer in 1960s Nashville. They ask, was the right person convicted or was someone wrongfully accused? See pictures, diagrams and evidence from each case on Instagram @buriedbonespod. Buried Bones is part of the Exactly Right podcast network that provides a platform for bold, creative voices to bring to life provocative, entertaining and relatable stories for audiences everywhere. Refreshingly professional

I love the organization of and consistency throughout this podcast! I also love the lack of filler words and that you don’t speak over each other. I usually get so annoyed with the chit chat at the beginning of podcasts but somehow y’all do it right - short and sweet. I hate that I’m caught up and have to wait for new episodes now, but it’s worth the wait!
Interesting and easy to listen to

I love Paul and binged Small Town Dicks and needed more so tried this show. It’s a different dynamic than Small Town Dicks and I’m getting used to that. I think one thing that bothers me is I find Kate a bit annoying during the opening banter. I can definitely do without that but now they get going, I enjoy it a lot and can listen while I do dishes, laundry, etc, and it makes those tasks go by quicker. Revising my review. Kate is downright rude to Paul and it bothers me a lot.

I’m obsessed with this podcast. I grew up in Alameda County and Contra Costa County so hearing Paul refer to cases he worked on is so interesting. I love his insight. Kate is amazing too with the way she sets up the story. Everything is so professionally done and so interesting. I look forward to it every week! :)
