I’m Sean Low, and I’ve been lending practical business advice to those in the business of being creative since the early 2000s, including accomplished notables such as Preston Bailey, Vicente Wolf, Nate Berkus, Sawyer Berson, Style Me Pretty, Marcy Blum, Michelle Rago, and Sylvia Weinstock--to name a few.

The key to my own success has been my ability to help artists build their businesses in a way that most honors the art that is behind them. I’ll give you straight up, no holds barred advice on handling what happens from deal to done. The journey with your client begins when they first connect with you, whether digitally or in real life. And from that moment until the project is finished, you have the power to manifest an experience and journey with them that’s transformative for all.

Everyone should be creative. Whatever your art is, it should invigorate you and bring you joy. And if it happens to be your business, it should bring you the money you need to KEEP being creative. Hopefully, I will challenge you each week to do just that.

So, let’s not just think outside the box… Let’s erase it!

    Tomorrow Is Another Day

Unless you are committed to making it look like yesterday. Evolution requires letting go to embrace what could be. It means knowing when you speak of something new, it has to be with a different mindset. Let's talk about the Phoenix once more.

    Integrity

Integrity means getting paid to ask better questions and being willing to live with the answers. Sound cryptic? It is not. Listen in for my explanation.

    The Client Is Always Wrong

    The Client Is Always Wrong

We have all been trained to think that the customer is always right. For creative business though, they are always wrong. It is a distinction with a VERY big difference.

    What Is Design?

    What Is Design?

Design is creation. Easy enough. Now put teeth to it to make it a business. Why does it matter? Which would you rather have: the straw house or the brick house?

The Voice Of The Next Generation

The Voice Of The Next Generation

What was is no longer. What is has to be redefined with history in mind but also ignored. The question is whether you will be willing to share your voice to a new chorus or if you will allow vestiges to remain your North Star.

    Why Hourly Sucks (Mostly)

    Why Hourly Sucks (Mostly)

For creative businesses, the value of time is not linear. There is intrinsic value that has nothing to do with physical effort. Ahem, creativity. You are not lawyers or accountants. So please stop acting like them.

Tony Fisher! ,

Sean rocks!

I follow Sean and everything he does via my wife and partner, Andrea Eppolito. She has been a member of Sean’s private group, the Business of Being Creative (commonly referred to as the “BBC”). It has changed her business, and her outlook on business. Sean forces you to see things from a different perspective. That doesn’t mean that you have to agree with him. He forces you to THINK and evaluate your position and arguments and whether or not they are the correct ones for you. I love that Sean is finally doing a Podcast - this is simply a taste of what you can get in the BBC. If you want to be pushed outside your comfort zone, grow and develop your business senses - then listen to Sean and subscribe!

The Greatest! You Must Listen to Sean Low

I have been working with Sean Low for years, and he is the best! Sean has one of the keenest minds that I have ever encountered, and his passion for the business side of things is inspiring. I am a much more confident business owner today because of the work we have done together, and I highly recommend him and his podcast.
