We still read and talk about C. S. Lewis even though it is more than 50 years after his death. His words and thoughts remain remarkably powerful and profound, sounding as though they were authored this morning rather than decades ago.
So why does Lewis remain so popular and influential today? Clay Brown will teach a six-session course on Lewis seeking to answer that question. The focus will be on Lewis the writer, thinker, and cultural critic, and on two of his most relevant books for today, Mere Christianity and The Abolition of Man. You are encouraged to purchase both books either at the August 22 class or on your own.
Clay earned a Ph.D. in philosophy and apologetics in a unique joint program of Trinity Theological Seminary and the University of Liverpool. His doctoral dissertation was on C. S. Lewis, focusing on Lewis and postmodern thought. He has presented papers on Lewis at the C. S. Lewis and the Inklings Society’s annual conference and the Society of Christian Philosophers’ eastern regional meeting.

Inexperienced Speaker
I am a big fan of C.S. Lewis, so I was excited when I came across this podcast. Then I started to listen to the first intro message. That's when I became very, very disappointed. I don't know if the speaker is a college professor or what. You could tell that he was unprepared and was shooting from the hip as the expression goes. He rambled and went on so-called rabbitt trails in his talk. I only listed to 10 minutes of the first talk and that was enough. No sense torturing my ears to the other podcast in the series. I'm sure the speaker meant well and loves talking a lot about C.S. Lewis but he needs training in how to speak in front of a audience. Guess I'll have to read the book because I'm deleting the podcast. Thank you.
