Revisiting "The White Rapper Show" with Blockhead and MILC
ALASKA and Zilla take it back to 2007 after rewatching VH1's "The White Rapper Show" with MC Serch, John Brown (Hallelujah Holla Back!), $hamrock, G- Child (number 1 fan of Vanilla Ice), Persia (who said the N Word AND pulled out a dildo), and Jus Rhyme (the original anti-racist grifter). Blockhead and MILC swing by to talk Best Rapper of the bunch, Best Hang Out, how uncomfortable NORE was, and why Serch kept saying "Ma". This is a new classic Call Out Culture episode!

The Cartoonist Kayfabe of Hip-Hop
This is one of my favorite podcasts I currently listen to. To me they remind me of Cartoonist Kayfabe, but instead of talking comics, they talk Rap. Alaska, Curly Castro, and Zilla Rocca are very talented rappers themselves. I love their extensive knowledge of the Underground Scene of the late 90’s/ early 2000’s, which is unlike any other podcast that’s out there. Whenever the crew brings on a guest for an interview (such as Dose One & Breeze Brewing,) I’m all ears.
I also appreciate the blind spot episodes where they check out other rappers that are under the radar to see whether or no those albums hold up. I recommend checking out their own albums as well; I was mostly familiar with Alaska because of his feature on Cannibal Ox’s The Cold Vein, but Curly Castro & Zilla Rocca’s I’m newer too, but their albums I thoroughly enjoy and will continue to check their new stuff.
Can you name another podcast that has shouted out names such as: Burl Ives, Swollen Members, Joker The Bail bondsman, and Humanreck? I sure can’t!!!
Shablam
Always a good listen. I discovered it during the covid lockdowns so there was a good backlog of episodes for me to catch up with. I’ve since listened to all of them and now I look forward to a new episode every week.
I was a fan of Alaska’s group Hangar 18 when they were on Def Jux, but had never heard anything by Castro or Zilla. This podcast put me on to their music and the music of all the dope guests they’ve had on and it’s made me go back and re-listen to the classic albums and artists they discuss on the show.
I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of Eminem or Erick Sermon.
unrivaled greatness
It is hard to describe how good this podcast is, because there is not much out there to use as a comparison. If you get why ego trip magazine back issues sell for ludicrous prices these days you will thoroughly enjoy the shows. Just enough of everything, entertaining for sure, also informative, with the sensibilities of good morning radio and 90s college mix shows blended into unrivaled greatness.
