ACTS - Can God use someone like me?

ACTS - Can God use someone like me?

As we lean into what happens next after Easter, we will ask the question: Can God use someone like you and me? If so, what does that look like?
In Acts 1:1-11, the disciples are eagerly seeking guidance after Jesus’ resurrection. They are told to wait for the promised Holy Spirit, emphasizing the importance of patience and obedience in following God’s voice. In Acts 1:8, we read about the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, which empowers believers to be witnesses for Christ locally and globally. As we follow the voice of God, we are reminded that our lives have purpose and meaning when we align ourselves with God’s will, allowing Him to work through us. Therefore, let us embrace the call to follow the voice of God, knowing that He equips and empowers us to share the good news of the living Jesus so others might live.
Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!

    Easter 2024 - A New Day

    Easter 2024 - A New Day

In Matthew 28:1-10, we witness the dawn of a new era as Mary Magdalene and the other Mary visit the tomb of Jesus. As they encounter the angel who proclaims the resurrection, their doubts begin to fade, replaced by awe and wonder. Similarly, we all grapple with doubts in our faith journey, questioning the reality of Jesus’ resurrection and our own transformation. Yet, just as the women met the living Jesus, we too are called to encounter Him in our lives, experiencing His presence and power. This encounter marks the beginning of our own new day, a day of transformation and renewal, where doubts give way to faith and fear yields to hope. Let us reflect: What doubts are hindering your encounter with the living Jesus? Are you ready to embrace the dawn of your own transformational day?
Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare for the Easter service. Pray for those who will be attending and who will encounter Jesus. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!

Palm Sunday - The Return of the King

As we move towards Easter, we join the crowd that welcomed Jesus to Jerusalem. In considering who they were and what they thought they were doing, we’ll find challenges and encouragement regarding our own views and opinions of Jesus.

Gospel Partners - How do you keep in step with the Spirit?

Gospel Partners - How do you keep in step with the Spirit?

In this week’s sermon, we are going to ask the question: “How do you keep in step with the Spirit?” As we will see, Galatians 5:16-25 is teaching us to walk by the Spirit, to align our lives and hearts with God’s Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Letting the Spirit lead us will drastically transform our lives and produce good fruit. But how do we get to the point of producing fruit? How do we cultivate an appetite for God and the fruits He produces, rather than allowing our flesh to dictate our daily decisions?
Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!

Gospel Partners - Freedom in Christ

Gospel Partners - Freedom in Christ

This week we are excited to hear from Pastor Dayle, and to continue our series in Galatians. What does it mean to be free? What are we free from? What Paul’s letter to the Galatians teaches us is that once we have accepted Christ, we have a fundamental choice to make. We are free to choose whether we are going to listen to God’s spirit or our own. We can hear his voice, but in our humanness, in this sinful world, we can also hear the voice of temptation. Who are we going to walk with and listen to? Or as Paul puts it to the Galatians: But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16 ESV)
We need to make the choice of who we walk with. We need to figure out who we are going to listen to.
Please pray for the team as they prepare, we are looking forward to being with you this Sunday!

Gospel Partners - What do you need to be okay?

Gospel Partners - What do you need to be okay?

This Sunday, we are continuing our Gospel Partners sermon series in Galatians 4:21-31, and we will be talking about “what do you need to be okay?” Is it control? Is it something or someone? How does our need for control impact our relationship with God? Paul urges us to reflect on what aspects of our lives we attempt to control. He contrasts two ways we can live: by the flesh, or by God’s promise, which is the way of the Spirit. The way of the flesh tries to take matters into our own hands. The way of the Spirit births something new despite our missteps. Ultimately, the Spirit of God helps us surrender control by trusting God with the outcome. We can find true freedom by resting in God’s sovereignty. So once again: what do you need to be okay?
