We discuss starting out at the Crues, opening up against Chimney Corner before announcing himself on the scene during the 2009 Irish Cup final against Cliftonville. A key moment in Coates' journey came in Crusaders Setanta Cup final win over Derry City. On the show, Colin talks about his double and penalty in the shootout which helped seal history. On the show we talk about Declan's playing days as a goalkeeper, as he enjoyed an interesting career in Northern and Southern Ireland. We then move onto life in management and his love affair with the Candystripes and his relationship with the current Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny. We discuss early times at Derry before moving across to manage Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Premiership. In that chat we discuss an incredible run to the Scottish Cup final where the Pars lost narrowly to Celtic. We then discuss European football with Derry, in particular facing Gretna and Paris St Germain and how Pauletta was the difference in that European encounter against the French giants.
