Cape Jaffa lighthouse then and now Shine A Light

    • Society & Culture

A fear of heights is not fit for a lighthouse keeper. Especially the men who kept the fire burning at Cape Jaffa for one hundred years protecting ships from the most treacherous of currents. Standing 41 metres tall, the Cape Jaffa lighthouse now rests on Marine Parade in the seaside town of Kingston, in South Australia's South East. It has been preserved as a museum to show tourists what life was like on the platform. Only since 1975 has the lighthouse stood on such steady ground - this is the story of the Cape Jaffa lighthouse as told by Frank England.
