    Message title:

Do you want to be made well?

    Main Scripture:

A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9)

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, [a]Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, [b]paralyzed, [c]waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” 7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

    Additional Scriptures:

    Mark 11:25

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

    Luke 23:34

And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.

    Colossians 3: 12-13

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

    Luke 4:31-32

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Message Quotes & Points (each bullet is one separate point):

“An eastern beggar often loses a good living by being cured of his disease. As bad as his current situation was, at least he was familiar with it.”  (William Barclay)

Jesus is ultimately asking: Are you willing to steward the healing that I desire to bring you?

The beggar could not physically exist in two different states (lame vs. healed).

3.29.24 Good Friday Pastor Robert Bass

    Title- Good or God

    Opening Scripture- Luke 23:39-5

Good is doing the will of God

    Romans 12:2

”Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.“

Good is partnering with the work of God

The death of Jesus reminds us that Gods ways don't always look good.

Who will benefit the most from my action or decision?

     Galatians 6:6-10

”Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.“

Good is following the ways of God

The death of Jesus brings eternal forgiveness of actions done outside the will of God.

    3.24.24 Faith C******a + Conversation w/Ps Robert Bass, Ps Dixon & Chipo C******a

    Introduction

    -
    Read Acts 1:8 again.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem (where they are
currently), in all Judea (19 miles away) and Samaria (35 miles away), and to
the ends of the earth (FAR)

    Points

    1.
The holy spirit is the pre-requisite of being a
    witness. Vs 8

    o
The holy spirit has to be the guide for every
    part of our lives.

    2.
We are witnesses just as Jesus modeled.

    o
Jesus told them to spread the gospel wherever
they were. Your church has modeled the love of God so well in your community as
I have seen and heard about the food pantry you run. He then said go a little
further, a little out of your comfort level.

    3.
Jesus often met a physical need when he was
    spreading the gospel.

    o
Jesus fed the 5000 he would not let them leave
    hungry Matthew 14:16

    o
Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood
and said your faith has healed you. Matthew 9:22

    o
Jesus Healed the leaper and said your faith has
    healed you Luke 17:19

    o
I long to hear him say well done good and
faithful servant when all is said and done. Matthew 25:33

    Conclusion

Tie this to one child. There are places at the ends of the
earth that we may never be able to physically reach but the gospel of Jesus can
    be taken through your yes.

By the power of the Holy Spirit helping you select a child,
pray for the child, give towards the child’s well-being, you are being a
witness to that child and their family.

3.10.24 Pastor Robert Bass Sunday Message

3.10.24 Pastor Robert Bass Sunday Message

    Main Scripture-

Matthew 4:18–22 (ESV): While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

    Follow Jesus vs people

Meaning of follow- align yourself behind and pursue after

    Title- A Follower Forever

    Pray

    Scripture

Acts 2:42–47 (ESV): And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

    Points

Develop Daily Devotion- what are you devoted to?

    Teaching/learning from?, fellowship/hanging around?, prayer/talking to?

Daily devo, your life will move in the direction of your devotion

    Goal of Grace- Acts

Acts 4:32–33 (ESV): Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

Grace and strength when we have all things in common. Same goal but many functions, common needs meet with grace,  Grace statements

Repurpose your possessions- Sold their possessions to meet needs,

Matthew 19:16-22 rich rule choose money over following Jesus, are your possessions building your kingdom or Gods?

Break bread with believers- who have you invited into your home?

When have you took the time to host someone, are there believers in your life that are close to you?

Inspire others with an invitation- as a speaker, validation in the invitation, leave the results to God. My life and actions should act as an invitation.

83% of people came to church because someone personally invited them

average invited 7 times before someone says yes to church- they are not rejecting you, overcome rejection by an inspiration. Share your excitement and plans for the weekend.
