Music Biz 101 & More is the only radio show in America that focuses on the business side of the music & entertainment worlds. Hosted by William Paterson University's Dr. Stephen Marcone & Professor David Kirk Philp, the show airs live each Wednesday at 8pm on WPSC-FM, Brave New Radio.
In this episode, Chris Bauman, Chicago-centric venue owner (Avondale Music Hall, Shirley's Piano Bar, The Patio Theater) and indie promoter (SPKRBX Presents, Summer Smash Music Festival), does not talk much about promoting shows. Instead, we spend most of the hour talking about NIVA (National independent Venue Association). The COVID-19 era has dealt a major blow to indie venues.
