Ex-Mormon Doc ,

Love this

As one who has left the church, this resonates deeply with me. I hope this kind of mature approach becomes more mainstream. I think if my leaders had been able to point me towards something like this I might have found a way to stay.

It’s a stretch

I respect Rob for taking the time to put this together. He was brave to do this, and the whole podcast was well thought out. That said, this podcast is for members that want to stay in a church that has lied and manipulated them their entire lives. What he is teaching here may be the future of the Mormon church but it is not what would be accepted in a 2021 Sunday School. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to maintain a belief, and I think it can be quite healthy. However, this doesn’t work for me. I do not see the value the church gives. I am grateful for my upbringing in the church, but I will not need a church for the upbringing for my children. This is because I am a learner. There is no information that I will not consume. I have the ability to decide what is right and wrong. While the Bible and BOM have good teachings, so do many other books that members are shielded from because the have “the fullness of the gospel”. The church can be toxic and for these reasons I’m out. The only reason I’m leaving a review is because my dad asked me to use this podcast to stay in the church. I can not.

Comprehensive and well thought out

Rob doesn’t shy away from anything in this podcast. I think his approach to a paradigm shift is probably the most sustainable way for open- minded members to move forward that I have heard in a long time. Hope he continues with it and takes on other projects in the future
