The Smoking Syndicate: Ferio Tego Summa Corona Gorda (Audio)

Ferio Tego introduced the Summa line at the 2023 PCA trade show in Las Vegas.  It follows the initial limited offerings of Ferio Tego:  Elegancia and Generoso.  The Summa is the first core line for Ferio Tego. “The word summa means a ‘comprehensive work’, a ‘summary or a synthesis of the body of work’ thus far. Ferio Tego Summa is a blend that embodies the diversity and complexity of the Ferio Tego Portfolio,” explained Ferio Tego co-owner, Michael Herklots in a press release. “The Summa blend highlights the incredible trifecta of body, flavor and intensity… and maximizes those levels with wonderful balance.” Ferio Tego describes the cigar in their press release: The Ferio Tego Summa is an abundant cigar that is full flavored and full bodied with an intensity that is present, but graceful. The flavors are structured in such a way that creates a subtle but relentless crescendo of flavor and complexity without becoming overbearing. The velvety mouth feel preserves a lingering finish that skews towards a darker style of flavors but is complimented by an underlying buttery note that adds a touch of levity to the blend.  Each Ferio Tego Summa vitola tells a unique version of the Summa story.  The Summa was initially release in four size, but recently Ferio Tego announced the addition of a toro size.  The Summa comes in a 10-ct hinged Okume box: Corona Gorda (5 3/4 x 46, $18.00 MSRP/cigar) Robusto (5 x 50, $19.00 MSRP/cigar) Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52, MSRP $20.00/cigar) Gordo (6 x 60, $21.00 MSRP/cigar) Toro (6 x 50, $19.50 MSRP/cigar) Blend Information Vitola:  Corona Gorda Wrapper: Ecuadorian Corojo Binder: Ecuadorian Sumatra Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican Country of Origin: Dominican Republic Factory: Tabacos de Exportación (TABADEX) MSRP:  $18.00 Final Score: 91
