Welcome to Cinematica Animalia! If you share our love of both science and movie monsters, then tune in as we - two ecologists, one veterinarian, and a writer - explore the ecology and physiology of cinematic creatures; explaining what works, what mostly doesn’t, and how the movie’s plot is subsequently affected. At the end of the day, we just love talking about science.

Rock and Stone!
First off this podcast is great.
I had heard about this podcast in the DRG discord (I go by Dödsräv there) and it peaked my interest so I decided to check it out and I wasn’t disappointed.
Keep up the good work!
Rock and Stone!
Dedicated to SCIENCE!
First and foremost, I’m a huge monster fan, growing up with Godzilla and other kaiju. When I studied paleontology, I learned how improbable such creatures actually are in the real world. This podcast does what the layman struggles with — putting hard science into play with regards to our favorite beasties from movie, television, and literature. Informative, funny, and engaging — every host is a wealth of information and sly mockery, without hating on their subjects; there’s a thread of love and enjoyment for the monsters that comes through. I highly recommend this podcast.
Fun new show!
Such a fun new show! I’ve learned so much. People should be getting in on the ground floor of this one
